Isaac Edwards started attending Step Up with Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions over two years ago and has achieved fantastic outcomes in that time. Read on to hear about Isaac’s Step Up journey.
“After being in Step Up for over two years, today is the end of the line. I have experienced and learnt so many things over those years, including work relationships and how to maintain pace (in the workplace).
I have achieved four TAFE certificates; Certificate I in Vocational Pathways, Certificate II in Retail Services, Statement of Attainment in Building Simple Websites and (more recently) a Certificate II in Information, Digital Media & Technology.
I have also been to three worksites for work experience; Harvey Norman in early to mid-2018, Casey’s Toys in Mid to late-2018 and Harris Scarfe from late-2018 to mid-2019. All have given me workplace experience, including how others work, how to dress and how to interact with customers.
I was one of the first people in Mai-Wel’s ‘Fit 4 Work’ program. It has taught me a lot of things as well as allowing me to try out many fitness programs from various gyms in the Maitland and Rutherford regions. I have really enjoyed doing them and I will certainly miss doing them.
Now, I am a Car Detailer at Heritage Motor Group Maitland, working on Tuesday’s and Friday’s and I am really enjoying it.
The amount of cars there is impressive, as well as the types of cars there! Some are easy (to detail) while others are difficult, like the Chevrolet Silverado.
I cannot thank everyone enough for the two years I have been at Step Up. It has been a fun ride and I will miss every single moment.
It’s not farewell, but see you soon.”
Well done Isaac!
